The Rice Lake Hockey Association was founded by Bruce Lillyblad, Jim Dorrance and Don Zaspel.  The first organized youth teams played in a rink set up behind the old vocational school behind Wilson Ave. For the next two hockey seasons, skaters played on a rink set up at Tate Park
