Financial Assistance

RLHA recognizes that playing extracurricular sports can be expensive, but we want all kids who desire to play hockey - to play hockey!  If there is a financial difficulty that prohibits you from registering your son/daughter please email us!

VOLUNTEER HOURS

Each family is required to work volunteer hours.  These hours are vital to the success of each season and provide revenue generating opportunities to the association.  The required volunteer hours for the 2019-2020 season are as follows:

  • Learn to Play/Skate players are required to complete 5 hours
  • Mite players are required to complete 10 hours
  • Squirts-Bantams players are required to complete 30 hours
  • A family maximum is 40 hours

Prior to taking the ice for the season you will be required to submit two post dated checks each written for 50% the amount of total volunteer hours due for the season.  If 50% of your hours are not met by January 10, 2020 we will cash your first check.  The remaining hours will need to be fulfilled at the conclusion of the season (March 13, 2020) and your check will be destroyed.

Hours not completed will be owed back to the association at $10 an hour and you will be required to present a check for the remaining hours before your original check will be returned to you.   The deadline for completion of volunteer hours or writing a check for the shortage is March 13 following each season.  After this date your preseason check will be cashed in full and kept by the association.

Families that do not want to volunteer the required hours may buyout at a rate of $400 per player.  Payment is due at the time of registration check drop off or tryouts.

For those volunteering and are new to Dibs, please click here to read the details on how to use Dibs as this is where all volunteer opportunities and hours will be tracked.

NEW FOR 2019-2020 - Prior to taking the ice for tryouts you will be required to submit two post dated checks each written for 50% the amount of total volunteer hours due for the season. The deadline for completion of volunteer hours or writing a check for the shortage is March 13th.  After this date your preseason check will be cashed in full and kept by the association.

There will be job postings on Dibs (click here) that need to be done on a regular basis and several scheduled volunteer nights before and after the season.  Your volunteer hours will be tracked throughout the season via Dibs and there should be ample opportunity during the season to complete your volunteer requirements.

We would rather use your time at the rink than cash your check!!!!

REGISTRATION PROCESS

Please read entirely before beginning registration process!

Step 1:  Register with USA Hockey

CLICK HERE to reach the USA Hockey website and register.
In order to process your payment you will need a credit or debit card, or a Visa gift card  will also work.

You may print your confirmation page at this time.  It will also be emailed to you immediately after the registration is completed.
Each participant will pay the USA Hockey fee of $50 if age 7 or older.  The USA Hockey fee is waived for age 6  and younger, however you must still complete the registration in order to receive a confirmation number.

Each player must have their own unique USA Hockey confirmation number in order to register with RLHA for the season, so once you have registered all players with USA Hockey please return to this site to register with RLHA.  If you forget to register with USA Hockey first, the RLHA registration will redirect you back to USA Hockey.

If you are planning to be a team parent or coach, you also need to register with USA Hockey.  You will register under Ice Managers/Volunteers.  All Coaches and Team Parents are required to complete Safe Sport prior to getting on the ice.  Please note in the registration process if you are interested in helping in these areas.

Step 2: Sign up for an Account with RLHA

In order to register as a hockey player with RLHA you must have an account on the RLHA Website.  Once you have created an account your information will automatically repopulate and you will NOT be required to enter in general information for future registrations.  Make sure to write down your Login and password information!    Our mass email blasts originate from the emails entered in your account, so be sure to use an email that you check regularly!

Step 3: Register for the season with RLHA
Please click on the 2019-2020 Regular Season registration link below and fill in all information.  All USA Hockey consent and concussion forms are automatically built into the registration, so there is no need to fill out any additional forms, the forms are available at the bottom of the page for your review prior to registering.  To be taken to the Rice Lake '19-'20 Registration Click Here for the registration form.

If you are requesting for your child to play up a level, please email us the request and we will present it to the board.  All play up requests need to be made prior to tryouts and players will be expected to tryout at both levels.

Step 4:  Attend a Registration Session
All new players or those players/parents with questions are encouraged to attend one of the registration sessions below.  This is a great time to ask questions you may have, drop off your checks and pick up your wreath order forms.  Registration session will be on Thursday, September 17th between 5:30 - 7:00 or Thursday, September 19th at the Rice Lake Hockey Arena.  If you do not attend a registration time, you will need to stop by the rink during an open time to pick up the wreath information and order form.

At this time, we expect all families to turn in 1) their two (2) work hour deposit checks and 2) their wreath fundraising deposit check.

Please write your child’s name in the memo line of your check.

NEW PLAYERS ARE REQUIRED TO PROVIDE A COPY OF THEIR BIRTH CERTIFICATE FOR VERIFICATION AT REGISTRATION.

Those players needing hockey equipment for the 2019-2020 Season, that will be handed out on the first night of practice and NOT at registration.  Please watch our association Facebook page and emails for updates on the dates.  If you are an older level player who needs equipment prior to tryouts please contact us.
